Donald Vincent Campbell was a pilot with 438 Squadron. From the squadron's diary: "January 1, 1945 B.78 Eindhoven Luftwaffe attack: J.85896 F/O “Don” Campbell could not get out of his aircraft due to the strafing and remained in it crouched down in the cockpit throughout the whole attack even though his machine suffered hits."
